Chicago 2016

I spent some time in Chicago.

I worked at Everything But The House, Uber Rush & Uber in the Marketing Office and at Dolly. I loved that idea. I delivered a Christmas tree to the South Side which is a story for another time.

I learned the big city hustle as an adult. I lived in D.C. at 19 and this was a different experience.

I also learned that the improv scene in Chicago is just as cool as the theaters there. Thanks to the new people. Kinkades is the best bar especially on Sunday’s during Bengal’s season.

I met some really cool peepz at Annoyance and iO. Ultimately, Cincinnati had something larger waiting for me.

Inquiry in game design

During my freshman year I was involved in a class in which we created a video game based on John Hunt Morgan’s raid during the civil war into Indiana. The video game is now live and playable here. This class was my first experience in design prototyping. I left the project when the game was in the design document phase and did I was not able to follow the project into production. The game does provide incredible insight into the only civil war activity in Indiana. I learned how to work well in design groups and utilize group members ideas into one project in working on this project.

President Obama Speech

Yesterday, I had my first chance to see the president of the United States in person. I enjoyed the bipartisan nature of parts of his speech, however, parts of his speech were very robustly against politicians that serve right in the area. Above, are the pictures that I took during the speech and below is a video of the speech.

Artwork (High School & College)

Where I am from (Courage)

I am from tools, speeding up and slowing down,
Tinkering in the basement,
Running in the place that taught me pace.

I am from creeks and stars,
Never singing in church to singing too loud,
The quiet hum of streetlights close enough to hear.

I am from egg sandwiches, onions, and goetta,
Ice cream for dinner,
Meatloaf for dessert,
And everything known to man, if man never worried of his girth.

I am from “Take it easy, Greazy.”
“I will love you for always and forever.”
and “Dude, are you okay.”

I am from Bob and Lou, Jack and Rose,
Mary and Bob,
Too many honest workers to count,
I am from all of them and now I am me.

Faith

Faith
by: Bobby

With faith you can walk immediately,
without faith you never learn to crawl.
experiencing timeless muddled motion
you are not listening to faith at all
when you listen to faith you remember how to breath

After years of talking, walking, and trusting
these the beginnings of faith
Putting a key into the lock after missing home
has become the meaning of faith.

Years from now when our world view becomes universal,
this Faith will remain.
Faith in yourself. Faith in one another.
Faith in the World.

You do not seem concerned
did you have faith?
or did you just find it?
The only certainty, found in faith
is when you are not thinking, only trusting.

Faith is a hug, a smile, a forgotten song found.
Faith is a twinkle in our eyes.
Faith is never giving up
And sometimes Faith is knowing enough is enough.

If you let faith start within your heart,
Yourself and faith can never grow apart.

Island

Island
by: Bobby Moran

I told her
through actions
I spoke
the words
clever guises
Our thoughts pretentious
did she understand?
I awoke on a mound
surrounded by sea
no way of escaping
set me free
let me be
She was startled awake
in a daze, drifting
sea crashing
alone on an island
together with me

Mountains Climbed

Mountains Climbed
by: Bobby Moran

Sticks and Stones
Break my bones
Words: a broken humanity
Mountaintop silence
Dreams and Hymns
Hand in Hand

Times pass, time lost
Has it rained forever?
Illusions of uncertainty
Fear of gasoline can change a life

A Blind Poet
Life was so hard
Then You
grabbed the oar
Steered the violins in the river
clarity of decision
motive for a change
We are rubber, the world is glue
Just imagine what we can do!

Man

Man
by: Bobby Moran

Define a Man by his best friends,
for they will be with him in the end.

A Man:
Thanks God once, if not twice a day.
Does all his work, before his play.
Honor’s his family before he counts his pay.

A Man:
Designs a life that is happy, healthy, and free.
Says what he thinks and loves what he says.
Creates works of art and never hits snooze.

A Man:
Ponders life but, does more than he thinks.
Takes a shower and tries not to stink.
Promises often and moves to follow through.

A Man:
Trains to be strong.
Reads to be smart.
And always keeps holy his heart.

A Man:
Loves himself in every season.
Loves a woman for all the right reasons.
A man is a man when he looks up above.
To be a man, be governed by love.
